Erika McDaniel, C.N., C.B.T.
Clinical Nutritionist & Certified Biofeedback Technician
Natural Health Practitioner, Writer and Speaker
Having spent her youth as a competitive tennis player and earning a top seat on the Harvard tennis team, Erika was accustomed to being young, healthy and strong. After receiving her MBA from Babson College, she embarked on her career with the same gusto as she had her tennis. By age 25, she was working in the fast-paced Internet startup world.
Almost overnight, Erika went from being a young, healthy
twenty-something, to living the life of someone with Crohns’ Disease. After being diagnosed by her physician and
referred to a top Crohns’ specialist at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, she was
told she was facing a lifetime of medication and disease management protocols. As her doctor put it, “You’ll have your good
times and your bad times, but get ready to deal with this for the rest of your
life.”
After two years of steroids and other anti-inflammatory
medication, she met a natural health practitioner who opened the door to a new
understanding of holistic health.
Through the application of the energetic properties of organic foods,
herbs, supplements, and practice of energy balancing, Erika’s body has now enjoyed over a decade without
a single recurrence of the disease.
It was because of that experience that Erika made a decision
that would alter the course of her life – she chose to go back to school,
became a Clinical Nutritionist, and began her wellness practice with the
intention of helping others achieve optimal health.
Erika utilizes several modalities and tools with her
clients, including a holistic approach to nutrition, herbs and supplements, homeopathy, flower essences, scientific muscle testing, and biofeedback. Erika’s goal is to help her clients navigate
through the vast amount of information available and to empower them to take
charge of their own health.
Erika’s practice includes individual consultations, speaking
engagements, teleclasses and group classes.
Erika earned her Clinical Nutrition degree from the Natural Healing
Institute of Naturopathy. She is a
certified biofeedback technician and is continuing her educational pursuits
in a variety of holistic health approaches. She holds a BA from Harvard University, and
an MBA from Babson College.
